From June 24th - July 24th the University of Limerick will be transformed into the capital of Irish music. From the world known Blas International Summer School to the fun packed programme of the Munster Fleadh there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
As always, Blas organisers have secured top master class tutors in Donal Lunny and many more. In its 16th successive year Blas has established itself as one of the worlds most prestigious music summer schools.
Following on from Blas, the Marie Duffy Foundation are sponsoring a very special two day seminar professionalising the teaching of Irish Dancing. The seminar will feature a wide range of lectures, demonstrations and practical sessions and interactive breakout workshops. Prestigious presenters and instructors such as, Michael O'Doherty, Marie Duffy Pask, Dr John Cullinane and Bernadette Flynn have agreed to participate in the proceedings.
On July 14 the campus will be a hive of activity with musicians and dancers from all over the Munster region taking part in the Munster Fleadh. Highlights of the week long programme include a fealdh concert featuring popular band 'Liadan', song composition workshops, a music trail through Limerick City on July 16, sean-nos dancing workshops and a tribute to Mick Molondy as part of the Gathering.
