Annual Health Psychology conference 2014

Thursday June 05, 2014

Munster was the venue for this year’s annual Health Psychology conference which was co-hosted between UL and Mary Immaculate College early last week. It was the first time that the conference was held in the region and was an amalgamation of Health Psychology divisions from both the Psychological Society of Ireland and the British Psychological Society. Dr Stephen Gallagher of UL and Dr Siobhan Howard of Mary I decided to collaborate on the event ensuring neither University would miss out on the opportunity to host such a reputable conference. All psychological departments in Ireland, the UK and further afield were invited to present abstracts of work based on set criteria. The sole aim of the conference was to disseminate high quality research which is currently on- going across the island of Ireland and beyond; a way of networking with colleagues and manifesting new partnerships.  Dr Stephen Gallagher was thrilled with the three day event, “It was absolutely outstanding, it met all our expectations above and beyond.”
