Western Education and Library Board Youth Orchestra

Wednesday June 18, 2014

The Western Education and Library Board Youth Orchestra will perform in St. Mary's Cathedral, Limerick, on Sunday 29th June at 16:00.

This is a return visit for the group following on from a very successful five day residential at the Irish Chamber Orchestra last year.

The Youth Orchestra is made up of 14-18 year olds from Derry, Fermanagh and Tyrone who come together once a month for orchestral rehearsals.

As ambassadors for the high quality music education provided in the region, and as living examples of the undoubted social and personal benefits gained by participation, the Youth Orchestra are hoping for a repeat of last year's standing ovation.

The programme will include:

- L'Arlesienne Suites 1&2

- Waltz from "Masquerade"

-  Radetzky March

- Lord of the Rings

- George's Bizet

- Aram Khachaturian

- Johann Strauss

- Howard Shore
