Blas International Summer School 2014

The official opening of the Blas International summer school took place at 5:30pm yesterday evening in the Irish World Academy building.

 Cllr Kieran O'Hanlon was there to open the summer school which is set to be a medley of concerts, workshops, lectures, interviews and ceilis that will run over a two week period.

Michelle and Louise Mulcahy, Katie Boyle and Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh will all feature in an evening concert at 8:00pm on Thursday 26th June. Admission is €10 and the concert will take place in theatre 1 of the Irish World Academy building.

Aine Hensey interviews Maighreid Ni Dhomhnaill about her life in music on Wednesday 2nd July at 5:00pm in theatre1 and admission is free.

Following on from that, a second Blas evening concert will take place at 8:00pm that night featuring Matt Molloy and John Carty, admission €12.

Daily lunchtime concerts will also take place from Tuesday 24th June until Thursday 3rd July in the tower theatre at 1:15pm, admission free.
