Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann is the greatest showcase for our Traditional Arts on Earth. For one week every August the very best of traditional talent from all over Ireland and the world comes together to meet, to compete, but, most importantly, to celebrate all that is best in Irish music song and dance.
UL Campus are delighted to offer attendees at the Fleadh Cheoil 2016 special accommodation rates in our charming residential villages at the University of Limerick. For more information please contact Terri Culligan on +353 61 234178 or terri.culligan@ul.ie.
Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann is the most important event in the traditional music calendar. For many, it is the culmination of months of hard work and practice as they compete against fellow musicians, singers and dancers to achieve the recognition of being an All-Ireland champion. For others it is a unique and welcoming festival of the best of traditional arts that offers a wide range of activities to be enjoyed by all.
Twice before, the All-Ireland Fleadh has been held in Ennis, in 1956 and 1977, and both were landmark events in the history of Irish traditional music. Now Ennis and Co. Clare will host Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann once again and through a co-operative effort involving Comhaltas branches, local authorities, business people, sporting organisations and local volunteers, we will work hard to ensure that The Fleadh Down In Ennis 2016 is the best Fleadh ever!
